Yay! Some Part time work! And Groceries...
I had an interview for a somewhat part time babysitting job that would be on a regular basis for when I get off in the evenings/weekends. I felt that it went really well but I started to worry as I had not heard anything back. But I just got a message that the mother would like to go ahead and felt I was a good fit to watch her son!! Yay!
I love kids, don't want any more of my own unless I adopt- pregnancy doesn't do well for me- and doing this will just mean I have one more kid in the house to care for with my own which is fine with me. I would rather babysit than have to work at a grocery store or something because this way I won't loose anymore time with my own children. And of course, the pay will be helpful on me getting things paid off.
So here is my first "YAY!" moment- I hope its not the only....
We had a new fridge delivered today. Our freezer was not freezing- it was the weirdest thing as it would make ice but otter-pops and ice cream would not freeze/stay frozen... I am so thankful that it was covered under the home warranty as it would of been a huge set back if we had to pay for a new fridge. It would of been a huge set back if we had to pay out of pocket for a new one. But instead we were only set back $22.00 for it, to cover them hauling it away and recycling it. At least I can buy ice cream now!
I have to go to the grocery store again. Coupon time! It has become almost like a game to see if I can spend less than I did the last time I shopped. The stores here are really good about showing you what you saved in in-store discounts and coupons and they even tell you the percentage amount you saved too (nice of them to do the math for me). I am continuously trying to beat the percentage amount of my previous trips. The only downside is that they are not able to show the difference you saved by simply buying the generic over the name brand which many of times is cheaper even if you have coupons, but that is why you gotta compare ads- That is where I kick butt. We don't have many stores to choose from in our small town- only Fry's Marketplace, Basha's and Super Walmart. If another store like Albertson's or Safeway has the best deal I just take the ad to Walmart and have them match it (they just do not always have the same brands/items)....
Lately I have not been doing such a great job. We normally keep our grocery budget as $300-350 a month- that is to feed the 4 of us, all of the pets (2 tortoises, a turtle, 2 big puppies, fish, and a parrot) and all of the toiletries, cleaning supplies and pet supplies. But last month I spent over $500.00. I did get awesome deals, its just that once in a great while I must stock up on the pantry items. We were almost completely out of canned veggies and pastas and sauces, etc... But luckily I only need to grab milk, lettuce, bread, cream cheese, shredded cheese, mouth wash and maybe some fresh produce. I will check my sales ads and see who has the bests deals going on and of course scour over my coupons too. I will let you know how I do.
