(I never know what to title these posts)....."Stuff thats going on..."

So things have been up and down lately. First off, my income has been falling about $200 short each week as I have open slots until August which is causing me to drain my savings that I was going to put towards getting the backyard done (we need grass as its just dirt right now). I also am starting to become a little frustrated with one family that I provide care for too. I have been willing to work with them and have waived late fees for them paying a couple of days late so they can wait to receive their pay check and they have had a bug going through their household but they are almost a week late paying me and they have more than once no called-no showed on me and I don't hear anything until hours after I leave them a message. I haven't watched their child this week because he's been sick and they said they're taking him to the doctor today. Is it too much to send even a text saying that you are not bringing your child today? I think I am just going to have to insist that they start paying on time or I will start inforcing my late fees as I don't mean to sound cold, but this is my way of earning an income and I have bills to pay too.... I am just a tad worried that it may make them mad and they decide to no longer use my services but this is to a point where I feel taken advantage of and they did sign a childcare contract agreement clearly outlining when fees are due and that there are late fees if not paid on time. But enough venting frustrations...

I have scheduled another field trip for my preschool. I thought it would be a nice treat for the end of summer break before some of the kids move up and on to kindergarten. We are going to the AZ Museum of Natural History, otherwise known in my house as the "Dinosaur Museum". We tied-dyed shirts Monday and all of the kids are going to wear them when we go. We are going to leave mid morning and have lunch at the park down the street from the museum as they do not allow food or drinks inside and then we are going to go tour the museum. I already have my paperwork from the museum to bring as we are considered a school group (yes, they count inhome preschools) and they are giving us a discount on our admissions. They kids all seem super excited; we even made home-made fossils they other day too when I got the confirmation. All the permission slips have been signed and we are just counting down the days!

So my son has finally started potty training for real! He is stating on his own that he has to go potty and is going by himself into the bathroom to go peepee! YAY!!!! This so huge for him! We have been working at this for probably a good year and he has had no interest until the last couple of weeks. He is still a hit or miss on whether he gets in there on time for number 2 so he is still in pull ups but its tremendous progress! We have been using a reward system with him as it seems to be the best motivator for him. If he goes peepee he gets to have his Mario Bros figurines, but if he has any sort of accident in his pullup they get taken away. If he goes number 2 in the potty he gets Nintendo DS time. And we have agreed that if he goes everytime all the time in the potty that we will take him to Chuckie Cheese as part of his birthday (we are doing his birthday party at home though as we cannot afford a Chuckie Cheese bday party but we have extra game tokens left over from the last few trips we have gone that we can take him to use). I am just crossing my fingers that he keeps this up!

I have to get things pulled out and ready to go this weekend as I am trying to prep for another yard sale. I have a couple of other people who want to do it with me too which will help, not only giving me an extra hand manning it but the more stuff you have out the more people tend to show increasing your probability of selling more stuff and making more money. I am just hoping that we don't get stormed out being monsoon season or that its not 100 degrees by 8 a.m. and we melt...

My husband and I had a date night Friday. It was the first time we have gone out in a while. the last time we went out was for our anniversary and I can't remember for sure but it was either to go see Alice in Wonderland or for our anniversary the year before (can't remember when Alice in Wonderland came out) but it was whichever one was last. We dropped the kids off at my parents and were pressed for time so we stopped by Burger King for dinner really quick - Fancy I know :) but I don't get an actual fast food burger very often with my husband being a vegetarian so its a nice treat for me. Plus sometimes fast food burgers are just the best! But we had to eat quickly as we had a movie to catch - Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2!! I bought the tickets online earlier that morning as I was afraid they would be sold out and I am glad I did! The theater was packed but we lucked out and got what was probably the last 2 seats at a descent height. The movie was awesome (total Harry Potter fan but I haven't read any of the books) and it made you feel bad for Snape and it kinda sucks that the saga is finally over but all good things must come to an end at some point and this was a good way to end it. We saw the trailer for the new Twilight movie too- breaking Dawn Part 1. I am excited to see it too. I have made my husband watch the movies with me so far (he didn't really have a choice in what he got to watch as I was insistant that I got to watch them so he got trapped watching them too- he is such a trooper:), but even he seemed a little intrigued especially when it became clear in the trailer that the main character gets impregnated by her now vampire husband. So I am adding that to my list of movies to see....

Well, right now all but one kid has been picked up and he is napping, the toddler took a longer than usual nap this morning and its thrown off his naptime because he is usually up right now but he went down later than usual for his afternoon nap. My baby is sleeping her long nap of the day and my oldest 2 kids are working quietly on a puzzle and my husband is getting a massage to see if it helps his back (he has been having back spasms from being so knotted up). So I am going to finish making some pasta salad to take for the potluck this evening (I honestly do not know what else to bring).... I am excited, some adult interaction after hours of only preschoolers- it will be nice.
