Busy week so far....
This has been an eventful week and there is still more to come!
Monday was my husband and I's anniversary and we didn't do anything as we were exhausted from the weekend. We got off work and for dinner we did leftover night and pulled out all of the tupperware in the fridge and just let the kids pick out what they wanted and heated it up. My daughter decided on a hotdog, tuna helper and strawberries - what a combo. But nothing went to waste and no one had to worry about cooking which was nice.
Tuesday started off like any other Tuesday. I got up and got ready for work, and since Mike was off to where I didn’t have to take the kids to the sitter’s I even had time to do my makeup in the morning… It started off great. I got to the office and a little after being there I started having pains around my belly/lower abdomen area on both sides. It didn’t exactly feel like contractions, so I wan’t sure if it was what they call Braxton Hicks contractions (false contractions) or what so I called my doctors office and they told me that they would squeeze me in that afternoon to check it out, unless it got worse then I would need to just head to the hospital. So I went to the doctor’s office and they checked me out. I wasn’t dilating so they decided to hook me up to monitors and see if I was actually having contractions and sure enough- I was! They ended up giving me a shot of tributaline and monitored to me some more to make sure it worked and then sent me home with a prescription to take to keep the contractions under control and told me to keep my feet up all day Wednesday and rest because the doctor wanted “to keep me pregnant at least 10 more days.” So that was exciting I guess.
I am at that point in the pregnancy where I am just uncomfortable and would just like it to be over with so it was kinda a tease not actually going into labor. But at the same time, I don’t want her born too early either. Just a month until I am due!
This week has been busy at work too. I am not only doing my day to day tasks but trying to make sure that everything is ready for the temp that they have come in and cover while I am on leave, which includes making a manual of how to do what I do, on top of my daily tasks. I am honestly worried I won’t get it done in time but I just keep truckin’.
I think I need to buy an ice cream maker. I would love to be able to just make what ever type of ice cream I wanted when ever I wanted. And I found a recipe for “Blue Moon” ice cream that is my friend Joli’s favorite and I would really like to be able to make it for her.
Last night I stopped by her house to show her the recipe and return a movie to her and she had bought me snow cone syrup!! I have been craving snow cones lately but the place by my house has been closed for renovations for a couple of weeks and even though I have a snow cone machine, I am out of the flavored syrup that goes on top of the ice and I cannot find any where that has it. Well she called me and said she found some and grabbed a couple of flavors for me- Joli you are AWESOME! I felt a little bad though for her last night as I could tell she was a bit overwhelmed trying to get the kids to get ready for bed and I wasn’t sure if me and Paxston being there was the issue or if it was just one of those nights and kids were just being kids as I saw myself in her trying to get them ready as I have definitely had nights just like that. But it was awesome to have someone to talk to and visit with for a bit. I can’t wait until the next mom’s night. And I hope to host one soon too. But I have to play that by ear right now with everything else going on…
This weekend I have put my foot down and am not babysitting for anyone! We already have so much going on and after earlier this week, I just can’t over do it and need to take it as easy as possible.
Tonight is the first of a 3 day family reunion for my in-law’s side of the family. I am meeting my husband and the kids at his grandparent’s house where I am predicting at least 75 other relatives will be (these reunions are usually huge) for dinner.
Tomorrow there was talk of going to the zoo but I don’t know if I am up for as my feet have been swelling by the time I get home from work (maybe if we rode the train…). And then tomorrow late afternoon/evening we head back to my in-law’s again but this time my husband and I are just going to drop the kids off with my mother-in-law. Instead of dinner there, one of my bosses is treating the office to a comedy show & drinks at the Improv and so we are going to go see the show and go have a sushi dinner afterwards as a belated Anniversary date night (Monday was our wedding anniversary).
And Sunday, we are having a big brunch/lunch and hanging out. I have a feeling with how hot its been that the kids will be swimming too…
Will keep you posted!
