Can I get any busier?

Things have been super busy. With my preschoolers, I am working about 12 (or more) hours a day since the I offer preschool but with childcare hours. And I am working 12 days straight before I get a weekend without anyone else's kids at my house. Every other weekend I babysit. Its exhausting! But I am getting to be here for my own kids this way. I see them off to school and am here to greet them when they get home. I can be here for all of my son's therapies and I am getting to watch my youngest daughter grow without feeling like I am missing out like when I worked out of the home with my older two kids. I am adjusting to getting up earlier as the first 2 kids are dropped off at about 6:30 a.m. and the last kids are picked up between 6:30-6:45 p.m. so come bed time for my kids (8:30) I am heading to bed very shortly after I tuck them in. The other night I literally fell asleep eating my sandwich at dinner, it was a late dinner though as I had to run errunds after the preschoolers were picked up. But it pays the bills and I able to be home like we need.

My Charity Drive for the SEEDs Program has been going pretty good. I have collected everything from some household items, dishes, some small furniture, kids clothes/shoes and toys, womens clothes/shoes to even toiletries. I have also met some pretty awesome people in the process that are true humanitarians. I wish my fund raising for the Autism Walk was going as well... I have my personal fund raising goal set at what they suggest is the minimum which is $150 and I figured I could raise my goal if I am able to surpass it, but no is donating. I have posted on face book, I have sent out emails to everyone in my address book, and have told people verbally about it too and even my own relatives haven't donated (other than my grandmother)....Its disappointing as I don't want to bug people too much about it but I haven't been able to raise anything! Is it really too much to suggest a $5 donation? I even said that if everyone just donated $5 I could surpass the fund raising goal. I know times can be tight but when I sent out the announcement from then to the time of the walk it would be less than $0.10 a day- I just gotta keep my head up and even if I can't people to donate, at least I have brought their attention to the cause and that's a big point of it, raising awareness. I am designing some shirts right now and my awesome hubby said he could help make them for our team for the walk. He is so awesome! Once the shirts are done I am having my team mates over with the kids they are walking for to let the kids help put the finishing touches on them. And the other day I decided that for the month of October, any extra babysitting gigs I get, I will put the proceeds towards my fund raising. So far, with the bookings I have already got, I am looking at $80 towards my goal. Hopefully I can book some more slots.

Our back yard will be done soon. My hubby went with my dad to Home Depot the other day and got the stuff for the sprinkler system. My husband had taken the week off planning to get the system put in and the sod put down but his HR didn't process his per diem in time for it to be on the last check so we could afford the sod yet. Once that comes in the yard will be under construction. I am even putting in a vegetable/fruit garden. Paxston has been asking about planting either a cherry or apple tree, but I don't think those grow too easily out here so Mike and I did some research and found out Anna Apples can grow pretty well in our climate. So maybe tomorrow afternoon, when he gets off work, we'll go to the nursery and find out how much an apple tree costs. We are also going to look into roses as I know they grow well here. Paxston and Mikey both want to plant flowers like we had at the rental so we are going put in flower beds too with the different color roses and surround the roses with misc native wildflowers (native flowers are lower maintenance and easier on the water bill:). I already got the seeds. They are the same ones I planted at the old house and so I know we will have flowers year round as the the different flowers bloom depending upon the season. I miss pruning the roses. Gardening is so relaxing to me. I feel more connected to nature. And I love seeing my kids getting into it. Getting excited over the seeds sprouting and growing and seeing the different flowers bloom and happy to pick and eat the fruits & veggies they grow themselves. I love how they would look for rolly pollies and earth worms and lady bugs and proudly help pull weeds or water the plants. And I know they miss the gardens too as they get so excited when we enter the gardening section and beg for more seeds to plant. I just can't wait!

My hubby has taken on a new hobby. He even sold his beetle. He is now into his childhood love of arcade games. I am talking about the actual stand up arcade machines, the kind you put quarters in. It started with one Nintendo VS machine, which is one that you can change the microchips in so you can change out and play different games on the one machine. We'll that multiplied into 2 VS cabinets, Donkey Kong Junior, Donkey Kong 3 and the wide bodied, 2 player, original Mario Bros. game- totalling 5 machines.... It looks like an arcade on one wall in the family room. But he has been researching the different games, their histories, how to restore them, the different microchips, etc... and with our son's obsession with video games, it has been a huge thing for the 2 of them to bond over. Mikey has even been wanting to help his dad with fixing them up inside and how they work. Its cute.

Holidays are coming upon us. I need to start digging out my Halloween decorations. Mikey has his costume ready to go. He is going to be Mario from the Mario Bros. game and Mike is going to go as Luigi with him he said. Paxston said she wants to wear her Tinkerbell costume she wore last year again as it still fits. And for Lily, Mike wants to get her ears and a robe and have her go as Yoda, and I will admit, there are some cute yoda baby costumes, but I got her a ladybug costume. I mostly got it as I just love the cute little red and black striped leggings that come with it. But if he ends up getting her the Yoda costume she can do both I guess. Maybe I can be a flower and match Paxston and Lily. I don't know...I'll figure it out. But I am excited.
