So much to do with so little time...

I have been behind in posting but that's due to being very, very busy.....

Okay- So not only are both my husband and I working our full time jobs, he went back to work at the beginning of this month after recovering from surgery, but I babysit full time and have even picked up odd ball jobs stuffing envelopes and what not....
It has been busy to say the least but we have made a lot of progress in getting our savings caught back up. My goal was to get our bills paid (and paid off) and still be able to put money into savings and to get our savings to at least $1,000. We are at about $900 now in savings- So
!!YAY!!

We are almost all caught up and almost done for the pets vaccinations so far for this year. The initial visit to the Vaccination Station was less than I anticipated, only $68 total instead of $88, and this weekend we go for the last round of boosters and it should only come to about $44 total for both puppies. The vet said they look healthy too when she checked them out. They are going to be huge when they are full grown, they are only about 5-5 1/2 months old and weigh about 40 lbs each. But they are good dogs and are catching on to different commands too like "shake" and "get in your beds" (to go into their crates) on top of the normal sit and lay down commands.

We adopted a kitten the other weekend too. A lady was giving them away free and he was so cute that I could not pass him up. He is a polydactyl too, which means he has extra toes on each of his feet, 6 toes on each of his front paws, 6 on one back paw and 7 on the other. I have named him "Bob". The puppies like him but he is still trying to figure out if he likes them. But he will be that last pet we add to the family for a long time.

My brother got his first place a couple of weeks ago. Its so hard to believe how much he has grown up. He is still my little brother in my eyes, even though he towers me in height now. I am going to get him a house warming gift and hopefully I can get to the store this evening. I want to get him something he can use, as a congrats on the new place but still in my own way of looking out for him. Lately, I have felt like I have lost touch with him a bit but I know we have been in different places with our lives, me with my family and he is enjoying the freedoms of a single guy in his early 20's... I need to make a better effort though to spend time with him though.

I was going through the list of other zoos and aquariums that we can get into for free or at a discounted rate with our Phoenix Zoo membership and found out that there is a zoo in Tucson that we can get into for free. I think we will make a day trip out of it and go down there and spend a day at the zoo. I can pack lunches so we don't have to worry about food expenses and it will be nice to see some animals that we do not have at the Phoenix Zoo, like the polar bears....

My son's birthday is coming up too. I can believe how time just flies by. We have been trying to figure out what to do for it. I think my husband wants to get a donkey or pony or something and let the kids take rides. I am not sure though if that is going to be in our budget so I plan to check out some prices and we can go from there... I better check with our HOA too to make sure that we don't need a permit or something.... Hopefully they are not too expensive to do otherwise we will just have to come up with a different idea....
